Had a wonderful time down in Ohio at Mini Convention. It was really nice to show with people. Had a really nice time. Saturday UAC: 1xBIS Star Buck's Camellia won Best of Breed and on Saturday she won BOB Sunday also.... Know its time to end her show season and become part of the herd.

Mid Michigan Show 3 Show weekend!

I had a wonderful time in Ionia Michigan for a 3 show weekend. We took the moter home and we had a blast. We didn't let a little rain stop us from having a good time.

Show A. Best of Breed Star Buck's Medea (Sr. White doe also 1st runner up show B for 4 class.)
Show B Best of Breed Star Buck's Medea ( Sr. white doe also won Best 4 class and then went on to win Best In show.

Sunday Show. Best of Breed went to Star Buck's Beyonca single ladies up and coming Sr colored doe. She has nice wool that feels like a white. She won Best 4 class and Best In show. First time out of the barn.

An Angora person job is never done. Its either cleaning cages or grooming bunnies or cleaning a dirty bottom. Then if your going to ARBA Convention you spend more time on those hopeful bunnies. Grooming them to the 9's trying to keep the wool on them and the coats on them. Hoping they can make it to the finish line. I thought I thought I would post a pix of Star Buck's Single Ladies. Very nice little black doe that has really nice wool and a body to go with it.

Countryside Magnum ( Blue Tort) He has been a wonderful buck that I got from Collen B from New York- $100.00 His going on 3 years old and has been a wonderful herd buck he has 2 up and coming son's that I like to keep around for awhile and see how they turn out.

Star Buck's Rehana (Chestnut) Sir: Star Buck's Green Acers won my first Open BIS in 2009 x Dam: Silvertone Dominique. $250.00 The type is nice she isn't as high as I like them to be but she has good type with alot of wool to burn very dense for the color chestnut If she doesn't sell I cut her down and she can become part of the herd. She will be showing this fall she is about 7 month.

North Central Show A & B

Hot hot OMG its Hot! It was a really warm show yesterday in Midland fair grounds but it was a really well run rabbit show. I think everyone rabbit took the heat really well and so did mine. We had really nice air movement through the barn.

Show A: Star Buck's Madea won Best In Show at the little age of 6 1/2 month old. Its her 2nd Best In Show.

Show B: A really nice Havana won Best 4 Class and the judge Terry Finder said the English Angora is resv. I thought that was really cool.

Do you really need a good Herd buck??

I have been told by some really great friends (L&M) that you need to have really good Keystone herd bucks and if that doe and him work and make nice babies keep doing that cross over and over. A good herd buck should have a sound typ and the wool to back it up. We are a wool breed first. Wool first type next.
There is so much prof in that and that I have seen in the few years that I have been showing. I have never in my all years gotten such nice bucks that have wool to burn. It always seems to be the bucks get left out in the wool department and the girls get all the wool.
All the Best In Shows that I have gotten have come from one really outstanding sire and that that Star Buck's Green Acers he has been producing some outstanding sons to take his place.

Today was a great day to share with great people and care about you. The All Breed club that I'm a member of had there 75Th year anniversary. We might be the oldest club still going in the USA. So many clubs have come and gone, we just have been there through the hard and good times. Got to help be show super and really liked it a lot. Its a hard job but someone has to do it and keep it moving. Saginaw Valley we have a great group of people and a lot of thanks goes out to the people that have set and close it down.

Hello to all, thought I come post a fast note. Went down to the great state of Ohio to show. What can words say about the great Buck eye state, don't get lost around Toledo Ohio and end up going back north. LOL A friend and I decided to go to the show me only taking 2 rabbits and all my grooming supplies and myself. I didn't have a show till Sunday so the rabbits sat in there carring cages till then all covered up and they did really well.
There where a lot of rabbits there! The mini lops and American Fuzzy lops had a National show going on and a few other breeds.

Sunday Show:

Star Buck's Terra placed 2nd in her class of 7 White senior does.
Star Buck's Nat King Coal place 1st place jr colored buck of 9 junior bucks and then went on to win BOV&Best of Breed. His a hot little buck just know turning 6 months of age you think you have a doe in your hands with the density of wool this little buck has.

Went to a show this pass weekend. It was put on by the Mid Michigan Club. It was a really nice show. My friend Gina Cook came up from IN to show with me we had a ball together. Don't let Gina near carring cages she will fall on them. :-) Love you Gina!

Went up to Evart MI this pass weekend for a rabbit show. Wonderful time by all. I had a bast driving up with my friend Rena and Kathy and her son Brandon, who won his first Best of Breed Mini Rex in Youth.
We set up our Angora Camp out door. It was cold in the early morning. There was no room for grooming table and chairs and for good reason people where taking up to much room and they had to make people stack there cages. So the rabbits liked the fresh air and sunshine we had yesterday. Ron Coldwell , Deb Syder and group and myself where there with English angoras and Deb had her French Angoras. It was a really well run show and we where done by 5pm.

Went to Great Lake Show this pass weekend. It was a well run show, had a great time. As all ways always the only one there with EA and to find out I was the only one there with Angoras! Whats wrong with that?? Here is the run down on the show. More like Play by play. Someone asked is that all you have is White LOL No, I have color just its hard for me to get pass White when they have wool and type to burn over the colored in the barn.

Then had to get ready for Best In Show table. Best In Show judge was Ron Rohrig. Best 6 class was a white Satin of the Gustafson family It was a hot looking animal. "Best In Show today is the English Angora"

So Star Buck's Katrhin H won a leg for winning BIS show A.

Someone told me joking "Know you can only win one of those a year"

Show B : Ron Rohrig was my breed judge and he went through and Star Buck's Katrhin just most of been shinning and picked her out for BOB.
They called Best 4 class right away so I had to run like mad blow her out and do what I could to get her ready for Best 4 class.

Best 4 Class judge was Mike D'Amico.
I had to sick feeling ok he not going to give a EA a 2nd look for 4 class. He sent back all the rabbits but the white mini satin, white Rex, Rhinelander and EA need to stay we where waiting for the Dutch to get done judging, so they ran it over and he gave it a look. " Nice animals but the English Angora is 4 class today"
Then had to get her ready for the Best In Show. It was on the other end of the show room so had to get her ready and run to the end of the show room. Who did I see putting up there rabbit form Best 6 class D Howe and He has knock out Califorias that make your jaw drop.

Best In Show Judge was Steve Parker. He went back and forth through the animals over and over again and he said there both nice animals and both should be up her but he said. "Best In Show is the English Angora"

Same person said to me Alright Marcus that is 2 in a row no more for the year. LOL

Michigan just had our first show of the season. It was a wondeful turn out! We had about 24 EA from our friends from the north Canada and our friends from the south, Ohio it was a really great time and we all had fun by all I will post pix when I get them taken.

Michigan 4 H Show

Went to the Michigan State 4-H show these pass weekend. Thoughts about the show, it was a really well run show for the 4-Hs and the Youth. A lot of new people getting into rabbits and it is always a wonderful thing to see. I remember myself at the age of 16 getting my first angora and all the work that went into them and I learned from some great people about if you want better animals you have to work at it and not be afraid to cull.
On the other hand a lot of people that need to be educated about rabbits. It was so nice to see us Michigan Angora members there to do so about our breeds. Saw some animals that made me think why would an adult sell to a youth and not educate them in the breed. Trying to make a fast dollar isn't the way to do it.
In my mind I'm not there to make a fast dollar off a kid or any person. In my mind if I wont keep it for my breeding program then it goes as a pet to someone or a spinner or other.

Deep Freeze!

Star Buck's Rabbitry is down in the deep freeze! I, think much of the upper Midwest is have cold temp. Last night it got down to 0 and the rabbits where happy there barn is heated so they where like whatever. I am really lucky when I first started out with rabbits I had hutches in the backyard and I can remember the times trying to get water bottles in the house into the sink and feed and try to breed rabbits so I could have babies. Those days have come and gone and know I have a building with lights and heat that makes it super nice.
The keeper(me) on the other had a to run to the barn because it was so darn cold.
Have some wonderful baby bunnies right know. I have to really cute chin bucks and a little black buck that look just like there daddy. All 4 does just want to fall out of the cage to be loved on. To bad they don't stay small then they grow up and then you really have to take care of them. Going to be a nice batch of babies to show through the fall show season.
As I sit here and think of spring when it comes to my area and the wonderful things it brings, working out in the flower beds and putting a vegetable garden in behind the rabbit barn and thinking of getting a few chickens so I can have fresh home grown eggs. Just makes me happy to be in the world and to have good friends and family.

I'm enjoying the time with family here in the warm state of Alabama. :-) Its a lot warmer than home. LOL! Just had my first 2 litters of babies in the new barn. :-) GC Star Buck's Devil Wear Prada just had a litter of 4 babies in Nov 12Th. There is 2 REW and 2 Agouti's, looking very nice so far. Then there is Silvertone's Dominique and she had a litter of on Nov 13th and there is 1 REW, 1 Black and 2 Agouti babies. I believe there the Chestnut color. One of the few colors that I just love and haven't had sence I gotten back into English angoras. Most of the good wool and type are either on REW or torts. Like I say its fun to play with color but type and wool is everything if you want to do well and win. The sir of both litters is GC Star Buck's Green Acres. I'm hoping to take some pixs and they are up and growing.
Nothing to much just been busy grooming 1 senior doe and 8 junior REW's that I have that are up and coming. Looking really nice I do have to say body type is spot on and know just waiting for the wonderful wool to start to come in. I'm hoping spring show season will be a fun one.

Ground Breaking!

Yesterday was the day we broke ground on the new rabbit barn. :-) Its going to be a 10ft by 12ft barn with a gable vent and 2 on each side 3ft by 6ft vent running the sides for good air movement. This will give the rabbits a nice view of the outdoors and the flower beds that are going around the outside of the barn.
We started the holes yesterday but it started to rain and the other half had hit a root with the post hole digger and said "I'm done for know lets take a break". So hoping to have it all done today if everything goes well. I will have to take pics as it coming along.

NARBC 2008-2009 Sweep year

NARBC sweet year has ended and know its time to start all over again. I thought I did really well for getting my feet wet back into showing English Angoras.
I was 12th place in the country with 1041.5 points in English Angoras and English wool I was 6th place with 88 points. That isn't bad at all for not showing very much. The rabbits have 13 BOB, 10 BOS and 2 Best In Shows for season 2008-2009. I don't know how mant GC I have to turn in and BIS I need to turn in.
They have done me well lets see if we can top it for next year. The New sweep year has started! Also right know i'm in the MSRBA club i'm ranked 23rd place in all breed points trying to beat my rank last year of 25th place, it doesn't end til out fall Convention in December. It can be hard when you don't have very many people to show with.

I thought he was going to be super long in type but has he done a change on me to a really nice short little guy. I think he is going to have some really nice wool coming in. Sir: Countryside Magnum x Shepherd's TigerLily. 2nd Is Star Buck's Louis Armstrong Blue Jr colored buck that I kept back. First of I would like to say this isn't a color that I would keep. There can be so many problems with the nails. Well he has really dark nails and has really nice type and has really nice wool coming in. I will be keeping my eye on him to see how he turns out. Sir: Countryside Magnum x Silvertone Dominique. 3rd is Star Buck's ( yet to be named) Jr( Black tort) colored doe. Just a very cute little girl coming up has really nice short type and a sweetie pie to work with. Sir: Countryside Magnum x Shepherd's Tigerlily.
Also I have 9 REW babies, that are just going on 6 weeks soon. Really a cute batch of babies there mother Silvertone Ricki Lake and Star Buck's Ava are getting sick of living with them time for them to move on out.

Haven't posted any pic's of rabbits in awhile. I haven't had a camera since it was taken from my house when i was broken into. So I got one from a friend and thought I'd go buck wild and take some pic's of some of the up and coming ladies and genital men I have been working with for the fall show season.

Haven't really had anything to report this month. Just found out wont be going to any show this coming month. The Great Lake show August 22 they wont be holding it. :-( Going to go check and see if there anything in OH or IN to go to. I have that show itch. Summer has come to Michigan! :-) Yeah that mean summer ear in the bunnies if you don't keep them in the house when they are born. It sure does make it easier to hold onto them when grooming them. LOL Not to much is going on around Star Buck's Rabbitry. Just keeping everyone happy and cool. Had a litter of 4 babies on May 14th Countryside Magnum x Sheperd's Tigerlily 2 bucks's Black tort & Blue tort 2 does Black tort & Blue tort. Summer Shows Are here!

Summer show season in Michigan is in full swing! Went to a double show this pass saturday for Great Lake Rabbit club. There the club that held the 2007 Convention in Grand Rapids MI. Its time to start to take ice bottles and water bottles and fans with us more and more to the shows. Well Star Buck's Rabbitry did a bang out job. Show A Star Buck's Grace Kelly (sr white doe) won BOB and Star Bucks Bbby Flay ( Jr colored buck) won BOS. Went for 4 class and I don't understand when judges just feel the outside of the coat and keep going. Something isn't right with that. LOL Show B had wonderful Judge Molly Covert! Love the Molly! Star Buck's Grace Kelly walked away with BOB so know givning her 3 legs. BOS was won by my white junior buck. Came to Best 4 class and we had District 8 rep Ronn Mauck. He started on the end with the English Angora and worked his way to the other end. He came back when he was done judging and looked at the English Angora and then went to the mini Satin. I was grabbing my poor friend Jenny arm ( Like come on and give it to the English Angora.) But he went with the mini Satin. Oh well there always next time and I have 2 young girls coming up in the ranks Star Buck's Lady Gaga ( Black doe) and Star Buck's Rachel Ray( white doe). There going to be the big girls to watch out for this fall on 4 class table. I have to say Silvertone Ricki Lake you have given me some of the best animls I have ever had. Star Buck's Green Acers BIS, Star Buck's Ava BIS, Star Buck's Grace Kelly, Star Buck's Rachel Ray and Star Buck's Lady Gaga. There Silvertone Ricki Lake you should be happy and so should your Bunny mother ( Linda C)

What about this weather??? It goes from hot to cold to sunny till not so nice out. I wish it would make up its mind. Have a show this weekend I hope it isn't to hot. Need to have the A/c in my car recharged... Will have no worries about the heat then But taking along water bottles and ice bottles just to be on the safe side. Hoping to do well at the show I really don't have to much to show just babies.

Hello everyone

Haven't blogged in awhile and I thought I would post something. :-) Have a lot of up and coming babies. I think there a total of 20 baby English Angoras know. I will have a fun full time picking out the keepers from each litter.
Its kind of funny, I have a litter of 8 and there only 2 does in the whole litter and the rest are bucks. What does one person do with 6 bucks. LOL There mom Silvertone Dominique is doing a bang out job taking care of them. They are started to eat pellets.
Already thinking of my May breeding and crosses that I would like to try and see how they turn out for juniors. Also looking at the bigger pitcher 2010 Convention.

Hey everyone, I haven't had time to post anything new, but I had time this morning. Been waiting for my doe Silvertone Dominique. The very nice black doe from Linda C had 8 babies this morning. I was sweating bullets in wanting them for them to be due before tomorrow before i leave to go to East Lansing MI for MSRBA Spring Convention for the weekend and a Double show. We have a All breed show on Saturday and Angora show on Sunday. Hoping Star Buck's Rabbitry bunnies do well there young but they are nice and coming into there own.

There not to much new to report. Didn't lose ( work at Delphi) my job, I still have it my hours where cut down to 6 hours a week. Some is better than none. But looking for a new job, never going to stop looking there out there.
On the bunny front not to much is going on. The babies are getting ever so big and cute right know 5 weeks. Its funny when they all try to sit on top of there mom in the cage. :-) awwww. My othere juniors from the doing good they will be 4 month in March. There going from that baby coat to that junior coat. They have been finding out what the blower is all about and soon going to find out what a tattoo feels like. :-( There owner is going to find out what another one feels like here soon. I love getting inked!
My Seniors are out there, just starting to really bloom and come into there own. Next weekend in the MSRBA Spring Convention at Michigan State. Should be alot of fun and there an Angora show on Sunday.

Baby Bunnies

I didn't posted these just yet but I have 14 new baby bunnies to report. LOL Silvertone Ricki Lake x Star Buck's Coach. On Jan 20th had a litter of 8 together 4 Black and 4 Rew, well one of the little black babies didn't live. :-( So there know 7 babies., Star Buck's Devil Wear Prada x Countrysides Magnum, for her fist time had a litter of 7 babies on Jan 26th. First time mom put them in the nest box. All the babies are Blue tort very cool bunch of babies.
The other 3 does that I bred didn't take. Maybe that was a good thing or I really would be swimming in baby bunnies. LOL I will try to re bred the other 3 does sometime in late end of Feb when it gets a little warmer I hope.

Hello Everyone out there. :-) I know these has nothing to do with rabbits but yesterday Jan 27t 2009 I was robbed. You think your safe in your own home but I guess not. Times most be getting hard for people in my area of Saginaw Michigan. Who ever the people where they came through and kicked in my back door to my home. I came home to a house to an open front and my first worry where my rabbits where they ok and the place was trashed. Everything was turned upside down. They taken a flat screen tv, check book and a music insterment. They even tried to get into where I keep the rabbits outside but there alright.
Its just make me so upset people will do these to there people. So times are getting tuff out there for people and its going to keeping going up people breaking into people homes.

Here is my first post for the new year. :-) I thought I take some up and coming pix of the babies from Novembers litters. I think there going to be some outstanding rabbits. The babies are out of Star Buck's Isabella x Silvertone Avalanche. These breeding was a father daughter breeding that I thought turn out really well. There was only 3 babies in the litter 2 REW does, Star Buck's Jackie O , Star Buck's Caroline and the little Fawn buck with the outstanding face Star Buck's Robert Kennedy Jr. Little does he know when he is older his going to have a date with Silvertone Dominique when he becomes older. Really would like some outstanding Chestnuts again. The last lady from Silvertone Ricki Lake x Silvertone Avalanche breeding. So happy to get something out of these cross Star Buck's Grace Kelly. I will have litter due the end of January I will keep yeah posted.

They snow has melted for awhile. I hope we don't get as much of it again like we have been getting. These old bones don't like shoveling it.
Just been keeping busy with the holiday. My family is in town so its been really nice having them around. :-) Nothing really new with rabbits, there really wet right know from the warm weather oh well you really can't do anything about it just wait till its dry and blow them out. Did do some breeding, I hope they all take. I bred 3 really great girls and I hope I have good luck with babies. Going to breed 2 more does here in a few weeks.
On a good note there are 24 shows in Michigan, sad note none of them have Angoras sanctioned. Going to try to talk to some club sec and see if they will do it for us. Going to try to make it to all 24 shows these season.

Its been so long sense i posted anything on my blog. LOL Where does the time go. Well I have been busy finishing with college. I'm done with my Associates in applied science. (Culinary art) is what they class that under. Maybe I will become a grand chef. :-)

Haven't been doing much with rabbits really. Our first show starts in January 17th. I hope some Angora people will make it out for it. Its in Mason Michigan and the show room is really nice.

Winter breeding really haven't been going to well. LOL The does are like hell no. We are going to get a 45oF day here these weekend we are going to keep trying them and see what happens. :-) Someone got to give in here soon. LOL

I thought I would post some pix of some up coming Seniors. They will be 6 month here soon! They are from Silvertone Ricki Lake a really outstanding doe. That has the most outstanding baby she is taking care of right know, Star Buck's Grace Kelly who I think is going to be a knock out for the summer shows. Here comes the bunnies as fallowed: Star Buck's Ava, Star Buck's Eve and Star Buck's Gaja Gaboar. I really like all 3 of these girls I'm only going to keep 2 of them so someone will be 4 Sale these spring. Then there is Star Buck's Green Acres. Really nice little outstanding buck.

Michigan had one of its first shows back after a break from Covention. It was a Doule show put on by South Central and Central Michigan... I thought my rabbits did alright, Central: 1st place junior white buck, 2nd ,3rd and 4th place junior white does, Ron coldwell had a really nice junior doe. :-) 1st place Sr Colored doe BOV. South Central show: 1st place junior white buck (Star Buck's Green Acers), 1st, 2nd and 3rd place junior white does (Star Buck's Gaja,Eva & Ava Gaboar sisters). Star Buck's Devil Wear Prada walked away with BOB and BOV making here know a Granded rabbit. Sh was given a very hard look for Best 4 class but the static got the best of her but I have been told how to fix that for next time. :-) Time will come soon to cut her down and make wonderful babies from her.

Just thought I come post something on the blog. I just had 2 litters of babies due to me these week. Tm's Venus 3 REW babies and Star Buck's Isabella had a litter of 4 babies 2 REW and I think the other 2 are going to be either some kind of torts or Fawn there only 2 days old. The sir to both litters was Silvertone Avalanche that is know living out East with my friend Collin B in up state New York. :-)

Hello everyone! Been home from Convention trying to catch up. I had a really good time seening old friends and chatting and making new friends. It was a wonderful time. Came home with a hitch hicker. Silvertone Dminique... I don't care for the black color but the rabbits color is really nice and deep and has wonderful wool and typ. Looking forward to adding her to the breeding program...

The smell of the 2008 ARBA Convention is in the air. I just been getting a face of corn starch and wool in the face. LOL I will make sure i have pix posted of the trip down and there. I had a wonderful time at a well run Great Lake Show this weekend. It was hotter than hell but but my rabbits got through it and where safe. They kept all the wool breeds on the wire bottom coops. We had two really great Judges for Angoras Molly Covert and Ron Riddle. Well let me give yeah the run down. Show A : 1st place Sr colored doe 1st place jr colored doe (BOB,BOV) 2nd place junior colored doe 1st place Jr colored buck (BOS,BOSV) 2nd place junior colored buck. Oh yeah and 1st place Sr white buck and 1st place Sr white doe but they where class filling and not there to win. Show B: 2nd place Sr colored doe 1st place junior colored doe (BOB,BOV) 1st place junior colored buck (BOS, BOSV) same 2 rabbits won and 3rd place junior colored doe and 3rd place junior colored buck.

What Is It All About???

What is it all about??? Its about Angoras and our friendships with everyone! Its not about fighting back and forth with people. Its about showing people Angoras are a wonderful breed to raise. I have had people turn away from the breed due to the fact Angoras have the rep for having mean, nasty people. Is there a truth in that? Oh yeah there some mean people out there in the breed but when it comes down to it every breed has a few that make it bad for the others. Its bad at Convention don't get me wrong your there to do one thing and that is to win. Don't let that get in the way of your friends.
I personally stopped showing because it go so bad in Michigan that it wasn't worth it anymore. Know that it has gotten better and times have changed I have gone back to showing Angoras the breed that I love and care about. I'm here to do one thing and that is to show my rabbits and have a good time making new friends. Hard to do it when you show by yourself half the time. Maybe that love we have for our breed and wanting to do well gets in the way of having good friends that we wont stab in the back or do whatever it takes to win. In the long run is it worth it?? Really come to think about it that Best In Show rabbit might be dead one day and when it comes down to it one day will be the same 6 feet under and in a better place. Do you really want to leave these world mean and nasty.

Out And About!

Thought I would post some new pix of the babies. Silvertone Ricki Lake babies are doing wonderful getting bigger and bigger everyday. There here with there mom Himalayan doe 2. There about 3 weeks old and out of the box or more like got kicked out by me. I just have to say Himalayans make the best mothers I think English Angora does could take a lesson from them. You can leave the box in with them and not worry about them sitting on them.

Here some pix of Star Buck's Maximilian and Star Buck's Cosmos. GGrand Mother Star Buck's Elizabeth 9 leg wonder is in there background and was known for her deep wide bottom. Its what I like to see in all my rabbits nice wide bottom all the way to the table.

I'm hoping the Broken pass at Convention these year!

I went out at 5:00am these morning to do my grooming. When you don't have a/c in the rabbitry you have to take the time and try not to groom anyone during the daytime. Its very nice and cool at that time in the morning. Also did the rest of the cages that needed to be cleaned. It was just really nice to spend sometime with the bunnies.

The reason for the Title for these post is do to the fact you can't find Star Buck's Coach face. His becoming a big boy so fast and he is starting to put on the coat. :-) He looks like his father Silvertone Avalanche. I do belive I will be keeping him and he will be my colored herd buck when he becomes older. :-)

I thought I would post some new pix. The first one is my litter of 4 English Angora babies and 1 Himalayan baby. You know how I love REW English Angoras. Nothing more catches the eye than a White EA all groomed out to the 9ns. I was getting sick of all colored rabbits here and really wanted some white babies. :-) White is my fav color. Dark pink day lily with dark red center and around the tips of the petals are red also. It looks really really cool. :-) Then I went to the garden center got to stop going but the stuff is so cheap right know and its getting cheaper and cheaper. :-) Can we say sale! I have yet to see my Double blooming daylilies these year there somewhere out in beds somewhere. On a funny note the goldfish in the pond these morning where spawning. :-) I can get fish to spawn really easy what is up with the rabbits. LOL

Just thought I wish everyone a Happy 4th of July. Going to be giving the bunnies some extra care that night of staw in there cages. I'm not even 5 min away from where they shoot the fire works off at. :-) Thought i would post some pix of my other 2 will be seniors for Convention. 1st pix is of Star Buck's Devil Wear Prada (Sable Pearl). I thought she wasn't going to amount to anything but she is becoming a big girl fast. Love the typ on her and the wool is coming in really nice already nice and thick. She wont be short of denisty. Then there is Star Buck's Timberland really nice Blue tort buck, I don't care for the coat at these time he could us alot more denisty but boys seem to get left in the deparment when it comes to that in English Angoras. Time will tell his brother Star Buck's Coach is really turning out nice.

Just thought i would post some pic of the babies. There about 4 weeks old on Sunday and there just so cute. Soon it will be time to leave mom and move out on there own. There out of my Broken Fawn doe Daisy. The two brokens are Bucks and the other one is a doe. As time goes on for sure one of the boies will be 4-sale at Convention.

I haven't posted anything in awhile. I thought I would post some pix of my yard. First pix are of the pond that I put in last year well the water bug got me again and I added on a stream to it. I wish the water moved alittl faster maybe I need to add a larger pump. Still need to take out the lawn around it and add some more plants. I have about 8 gold fish swimming around in there and there doing really well, surprise nothing and come along and eaten them. I would like to add 2 koi to the group but there so much money.

Here is the hangging basket that is on my front porch. I forget the name of the plant but the flower are really cool remind you of the pink panther. LOL

I just thought I would post a pix of how I keep my babies. I started making all wire nest boxes and I love them. You just have to zip tie them down when you place them in with the does so they don't flip them. so easy to clean just take out the cardboard and place new in. There newspaper on the bottom and I just have to change that out and it keeps the babies dry so they aren't wet from going to the bathroom. I also just place them inside of a plastic tub and it keeps any straw from flying all over.

Thought I would post some pix of my Seniors for Convention. There getting so big, just stated to blow there coats out once a week. 1st pix is Star Bucks Coach, all I can say is what a buck! Very nice typ and I think he is going to have a doe coat on him. Senior does watch out these show season with this buck on the table. His daddy was BOS 2007 ARBA Convention lets see if he can come close to what his father did.

2nd pix is Star Buck's House Of Star. Nice short little doe with a body typ to burn and is a really cool Sable point color. Love these doe alot and I think she will do well for me at Convention.

To my surprise what do I see with my little eyes. My doe Star Buck's Daisy just gave me 4 big baby bunnies. I didn't think she was bred but OMG she was pulling wool all day long and I didn't think anything of it just though she was bred but I took her out and looked her over and i felt something moving inside of her. I said to myself we are going to give you a box. Know I have 4 baby bunnies. Two of the babies are Chestnuts my fav color and the other two are either Broken Black or Broken Chestnut they have white tummies so its kind of hard to tell. :-) The 2 broken are really nicely marked. I only have 2 juniors to show at Convention but the 2 broken will be going and one maybe both will be 4 sale.

Thought I post a pix of Star Buck's Miss Isabella. She has 2 BOB, BOV 2 legs took them as a junior. She has a lot of wool on her little body. Her mother Star Buck's Daisy ( Broken Fawn) She is bred and hope they are as nice as these one. They grow up so fast from the time there little pink babies born and then you have to really take care of them. The first pix is fuzzy and well she just to cute for pix anyways.

North Central Show weekend May 24,2008

Went to a show this weekend, need to get the bunnies out and about. I don't want there first show to be Convention and the freak out and chew there coats. It was a really small well run show, we judge right away at 9 Am for show A and show B was at 1:30. Can you say gas prices have heat a new high $4.29 a gallon. The show wasn't even 30min from my house thank god!

Show A Judge Mike Adams: Did a great job I was surprise not to many judges take the time to blow into an EA coat he got a gold star in my book.

My 2 Lilac Tort and Black Tort are nothen short but cute. They need to start getting some wool so I have something to do. I'm bored just petting them and loving them. I thought post a new pix of Star Buck's Miss Isabella. She is becoming a little hot number. Time will tell, but the wool that is coming onto her already for 3 months would make you go wow. Her body type is nothen short of what i like to see and that is a wide shoulder and a smooth back side all the way to the table. :-)

Spring has Sprung

Spring is here and and full swing. Its not fair where my mom leaves she is already planthing her vegetable garden. :-( We haven't even thought of that yet.
Then really nothing to report not doing to many shows these summer. I do have one in June that I have been asked to go to. If it way to hot i'm not going and its a night show witch you don't have to be there till 5pm. I need to have the bunnies tattoed and such before then.
My Himalyans are coming on really nice. My babies that where born in Feb are almost white and looking really nice. I have a doe that I have high hope for she has a really high egg marking and really nice boots with the fur. She gets low low low low. With her apple bottom jeans on. LOL I just had to through that in there.
Did do all my junior breeding these pass weekend so I hope to have some babies at the end of the month. :-) I'm hoping to do well these year at Convention.

Star bucks Devil Wear Prada, aka: Prada is a Sable pearl doe and has a little sister that looks just like her and her name is Star Buck's House of Star aka Star, Sable pearl also.

Just thought I would add some new pix of the babies. Ricki (REW) litter is down to 2 babies. Don't know what happend to it. I think someone came in a took it. :-( Know the rabbits are really under lock and key anymore. One is a doe and the other one is a buck. :-) Then Tiger lily (black tort) rainbow litter so far that I can tell Black tort and Lilac tort are bucks and the 1 big sable pearl is a doe and the Chocoalte tort and other Sable pearl no clue yet. There the little ones of the litter.

Hello everyone, had a show these pass weekend in Lapper Michigan. I had a really good time with some really good friends. Token wooler of the group I hang around with at the shows. They have Havanas and Himalayans. So I do stick out and people ask is that a dog or is that a rabbit or is that alot of work to groom. LOL
I have one coming up these weekend in Evart Michigan and Open doesn't have to be there till Noon. :-) Once again I will be the only person there. Where are all the EA people at.
Silvertone Ricki Lake babies are getting big all 3 of them. There eyes have open and there running around there nest box. They will soon be with there loving mother out in the rabbit room. My house can smell right again. :-) Tiger Lily babies are just really cute there 5 of them 1 Black Tort, 1 Blue Tort, 1 Lilac Tort and 2 Sable Pearls or Sable Points in other breeds. I got the rainbow in these litter of colors.
I'm hoping to do my junior breeding next week. Going to spick the girls water bottle with apple cider vineger again. I'm going to be breeding my Broken Fawn doe (Daisy) again and TM's Venus for the first time.

Today March 18th, 2008, Shepard's Tiger Lily gave birth to 6 wonderful babies all colored. :-) I'm so happy for her right know, she isn't a happy camper but me and Silvertone Avalanche are happy for her. :-) Not a very clear pix but it works. :-) 2008 ARBA Convention here we come.

Hello everyone

Just like to say there are 9 new babies here at Star Buck's Rabbitry. :-) Silvertone Ricci gave rise to 9 babies these morning March 17 Th 2008 at 2:30am. I'm so happy for her. I need to lay off the apple cider vinegar in the water. Silvertone Ricci and Silvertone Avalanche most of had to much of it. LOL
